Antique pearl and diamond Tiara
One of the most impressive pieces we have come across in the last year is this natural pearl and diamond tiara.
It came to us through a European family who had been disappointed by auction house estimates both here and on the continent and we were more than happy to give it a new home. It was in need of some careful and sympathetic restoration, but the results have been wonderful. Mounted in silver and gold, each pearl-set strawberry-leaf motif is detachable, forming a handsome series of dress-clips. Fashioned by a continental workshop in the mid-19th century, a diamond-set headpiece of this scale is an important survival from a rather more dressy age. Click here for more details.
